Some focus on International and Offshore matters. Other practice in areas such as employment tax, sales tax, or business tax.
In addition, some Tax Attorneys may have earned advanced credentials such as a LL.M. (Master's in Tax Law) and become a Board-Certified Tax Law Specialist.
While a Tax Attorney may perform activities that overlap other tax credential such as an Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA), others may be both an Attorney/EA or Attorney/CPA.
