And it’s quite possibly the easiest of the 990 forms. The e-Postcard is very short and only requires eight pieces of information: Employer Identification Number, also known as EIN - this is the 9-digit number that serves as your organization’s Tax-ID. Tax Year Period - the 12-month period in which your organization typically operates. It starts on the 1st of the beginning month and ends on the last day of the ending month. For example, January 1st to December 31 is a full tax year period. Organization’s Legal Name and Address - make sure it matches what the IRS already has on file. “Doing Business As” Name, or DBA - any other name your organization goes by. Every organization might not have a DBA name, and that’s fine. Primary Officer Name, Address, and Number - this can be for any key officer within your organization. It can even be your own information. Organization Website - list the URL address for your organization’s website if you have one. If not, that’s fine too. Confirmation of $50,000 or Less in Gross Receipts - this is done with a simple checkmark - no need for exact amounts here. Statement of Termination - this is only necessary if your organization is filing its final 990 return and going out of business. ExpressTaxExempt continually works to make filing e-Postcards as simple as possible. Visit our new e-Postcard Portal at epostcard.expresstaxexempt.com and file just using your EIN. Your eight pieces of information will automatically be entered from the IRS database. Let ExpressTaxExempt make taxes simple this season!
